Late MasterChef Australia host Jock Zonfrillo has been honoured with a moving tribute one year ago from his sudden death.
The reality TV show took to Instagram to share a photo of a wooden bench with a plaque dedicated to Jock, that sits in the garden of the Melbourne MasterChef studio.
“In memory of Jock Zonfrillo, ‘In life you should give more than you take’,” the memorial reads.
Jock passed away on April 30, 2023, a day before MasterChef season 15 was set to air. The season was delayed by a week, and Jock appeared as a judge on it posthumously.

MasterChef Australia fans took to the comments section of the announcement post to share their condolences and love for Jock.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year. ð¢. My heart is with the MC family today. I shed some tears with the opening show of this season. He is sorely missed. ðð¼,” one person wrote.
Another penned: “Miss him still. Every time I watch MC, it’s impossible not to think about him and his irony ð«¶ð»â¤ï¸.”
A third wrote: “Still hard to believe @zonfrillo is gone. Thinking of his wife Loz, his kids, family, friends & @masterchefau family ♥ï¸ð.”
Lauren Fried paid tribute to Jock on his anniversary
Jock passed away on April 30, and his wife Lauren Fried took to Instagram on the year anniversary to honour her late husband.
She posted a montage of videos of Jock, herself, and their two children, Alfie and Isla.
“One year,” she began in the caption. “We watched the sunrise today in true Scottish style – wind, pouring rain, and Jock’s beloved bagpipes as our soundtrack.”
“A day for us to try to accept that he’s not coming home, that this is forever, that we were lucky he was ours,” she continued.
“Forever their Papa and Dad. Forever My Love. 04.08.1976 – 01.05.2023”.
