The Gilmore Girls Netflix revival last year called A Year in the Life should have sated those fans that were desperate for more fast talking quips from their favourite mother daughter duo, Rory and Lorelai Gilmore.
However, because things never just get tied up in a neat little package anymore (thanks Game of Thrones for setting THAT precedent), it left fans with a lot of questions about who was the father of Rory’s child.
Who knocked her up?
WHO!?
Naturally, fans have a lot of theories as to who the father could be. Is it Logan Huntzberger, the engaged man she was sleeping with? Or are you more of a fan of the cosplaying Wookee she slept with in order to get the story? Did Jess and Rory have a secret off-camera rendezvous?
Note: As a journalist, DO NOT DO THIS.
Milo Ventimiglia has had enough of the speculation, and considering he plays the dark horse candidate, his opinion and thoughts about the show will have a lot of weight. He has said:
“Fans are like, ‘Oh my God, is it your baby?’,”
“It could be — I don’t think it is — but it could be.’ ”
See? He doesn’t even know if it’s his ficticious kid. Leave the poor guy alone. He spilled all of this in an interview with People‘s series, the Jess Cagle Interview.
Ventimiglia goes on to say this touching remark about Jess and Rory’s relationship:
“I think that he’s never going to not love her. Now that doesn’t mean it’s a romantic love — it just means, I think, the two of them found something deep, a connection so deep when they were so young that even though their lives went on different paths, different directions, they had that,”
“They had that together and you never lose it.”
I don’t know. I don’t think it’s his kid. That would be too typical, I think. I’m all for the cosplaying Wookie to rise up and be the baby daddy. The takeaway?
Jess from Gilmore Girls doesn’t know.
