Chief Hunter Reece Dewar has revealed which Hunted Fugitives will give the Hunters a real “run for their money” this year.
Amongst the Hunted Australia 2024 cast is an investigator who works for the government, a CEO and a firefighter.
While the Hunters have hugely impressive resumes and access to advanced intelligence, Reece believes that there are three Fugitives who will be particularly tricky to catch.
“A lot of the fugitives have very fugitives have very distinguished backgrounds as well,” he told Chattr in an exclusive interview.
Which three Fugitives is Hunted’s Reece concerned about?
“Andy and Deb have an awesome background. Andy is a fireman and Deb, her dad was a safe cracker back in the day,” he said. A safecracker is a person who breaks up and robs safes.
“They’re a dynamic pair, those two,” he added. “And the other thing is they’ve been married for over 20 years, so they know each other very well, know what they’re capable of, know what their mindset is going to be like, so they’re pretty good. “
Aside from Andy and Deb, Reece believes Akec is another Fugitive who might prove hard to catch.
“She’s a former AFLW player, so she’s going to be fit as and she’s going to give the Hunters a run for their money,” he said.
Reece explains why viewers side with the Fugitives
Generally speaking, if Hunted was real life, the Fugitives would be considered the ‘bad guys’ and the Hunters would be the ‘good guys’, who are maintaining justice.
However, viewers of the show generally tend to side with the Fugitives and barrack for them to evade the Hunters.
Reece believes the reason for this comes down to Australians’ upbringings and backgrounds.
“I think it’s Australian nature, right?” He said. “I think we all, we all like a little bit of an outlaw, we’re a notion of convicts if we want to go back like that.
“We like the thrill of a hunt. We like the thrill of not being caught, and we like a challenge.”
Will Reece and his team of Hunters be able to catch Andy, Deb and Akec before they make it to extraction? We can’t wait to find out!
Hunted Australia airs Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
