With the 2024 Summer Olympics wrapped, we’re moving on to the next epic sporting event: the 2024 Paralympics.

How to watch the Paralympics opening ceremony in Australia

The 2024 Paralympics opening ceremony kicks off at 8pm local French time on August 28.

In Australia, it will be screened live on August 29 at 3:30am AEST on Channel 9 and 9Now. For those who aren’t interested in setting their alarms for the crack of dawn, there will be a full replay on the same channels at 12pm AEST.

Like the 2024 Summer Olympics, the 2024 Paralympics will be held in Paris France.

How to watch the 2024 Paralympics in Australia

The Paralympics will be available to watch on both Channel 9 and Stan from August 29.

Channel 9 will be broadcasting every medal of the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 live and free on Channel 9, 9Gem and 9Now.

Every event will also be available to stream ad-free, live and on-demand with 4K on Stan Sport.

When do the Paralympics start?

The 2024 Paralympics kick off on August 29 at 1am Paris time and will run through until September 8.

Who is commentating Australia’s coverage of the 2024 Paralympics?

Dylan Alcott, James Bracey, Sylvia Jeffreys, Ellie Cole, Roz Kelly, Blake Cochrane, Todd Woodbridge and Kurt Fearnley will lead Nine’s coverage.

Who from Australia is competing in the 2024 Paralympics?

142 athletes from Australia will be competing in the 2024 Paralympics.

The 2024 Australian Paralympics team will be co-captained by Angela Ballard, an eight-time medallist in para-athletics and Curtis McGrath, a three-time gold medal winner in para canoe.

Tokyo 2020 gold medallists Qian Yang and Lina Lei are another notable addition, and they will lead Australia’s 12-member para table tennis team.

The 2024 Paralympics will air on Channel 9 and Stan from August 29.
