There’s been a lot of hype surrounding The Golden Bachelor Australia, and now that casting has officially opened, you (or your mum) can apply.
The premise of The Golden Bachelor is the same as the OG Bachelor – one suitor dates multiple women in the hope of finding his soul mate.
However, the golden iteration has one big difference: the age group for contestants and the lead is older than in the original version.

The Golden Bachelor isn’t just casting women interested in dating the Bach; they’re also looking for a leading man.
“We are looking for Australia’s first Golden Bachelor and many incredible women who want to find love again. Apply or nominate a loved one now!” The casting page reads.
There’s the option to apply yourself or to nominate someone.
The application process is similar to other shows. There are a bunch of in-depth questions, and you must upload photos and/or videos of yourself (or the person you’re nominating).

According to reports from The Daily Mail, the casting team from Nine is also proactively going out and looking for possible candidates for the series, too. It was reported that a talent scout was handing out business cards to folks in attendance at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Tuesday, November 5.
So perhaps you can expect a tap on the shoulder if you’re headed to any major events in the coming weeks!
How old do you have to be for The Golden Bachelor?
According to Channel 9’s casting page, the show is looking for singles in their 50s and 60s. However, the application website stipulates the age of 60-75.
So, if you’re 50+ and keen on the show, you may as well throw your hat in the ring!
Who’s the host?
Channel 9 has confirmed that former Farmer Wants a Wife host Samantha Armytage will be taking on The Golden Bachelor Australia hosting role.
“The Golden Bachelor will be the most romantic show on TV, full of dates, new hope, and true love,” She said in an interview with 9Entertainment.
Sam also shared a video to Instagram encouraging folks to apply to The Golden Bachelor Australia they’re “over 60, young at heart and looking for love again”.
