Gritty '70s crime thriller Hotel Cocaine comes to life in new trailer

Miami’s most notorious hotel will be brought to life in the Stan Original Series Hotel Cocaine and given it’s from the creator of Narcos and Godfather of Harlem, we’re in for an epic ride!

Created and executive produced by Chris Brancato, the eight-episode crime thriller is based on the Mutiny Hotel with a cast led by Danny Pino (Mayans M.C) and Aussie actress Laura Gordon (Secret City).

Synopsis

Hotel Cocaine tells the story of Roman Compte (Danny Pino), a Cuban exile and general manager of the Mutiny Hotel, the glamorous epicentre of the Miami cocaine scene of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s.

The Mutiny Hotel was Casablanca on cocaine; a glitzy nightclub, restaurant, and hotel frequented by Florida businessmen and politicians, international narcos, CIA and FBI agents, models, sports stars and musicians. At the centre of it all was Compte, who did his best to keep it all going and fulfil his American Dream.

When does the series premiere?

Hotel Cocaine premieres on June 17 (the same day as the U.S.) on Stan.

Who is in the cast?

Starring alongside Danny and Laura are Yul Vazquez (Godfather of Harlem), Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Mark Feuerstein (PowerTania Watson (The Head) and Corina Bradley (Star-Crossed Romance).

They lead an ensemble cast including Don Mike, Pedro Giunti and Lola Claire in reoccurring roles, as well as Matthew Del Negro, Victor Oliveira, Robert Beck, Sam RobardsCandy SantanaMayra Hermosillo, Juan Pablo Raba, Erniel Baez, Nick Barkla, Cale Ambrozic, Camila Valero, and Maggie Lacey.

Is there a trailer?

You bet. On April 4, Stan released a teaser trailer, and on May 8 the platform dropped an action-packed official trailer – watch them both below.
