Get ready to be enthralled by High Country — Binge's edge-of-your-seat mystery thriller

There’s a new mystery-thriller afoot as Aussie streaming service Binge prepares to release the Original series, High Country.

Starring award-winning actress Leah Purcell (Wentworth), the eight-part series will premiere with a double episode on Tuesday, March 19 2024, with new episodes dropping weekly.

What is High Country about?

High Country revolves around detective Andrea (Andie) Whitford (Purcell), who is transferred to the Victorian High Country and thrust into a baffling mystery of five missing persons who have vanished into the wilderness.

Through an edge-of-the-seat, high-stakes investigation, Andie uncovers a complex web involving murder, deceit, and revenge.

Who is in the cast?

Joining Purcell are internationally acclaimed actor Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones) plus actors Sara Wiseman (A Place to Call Home) and Aaron Pedersen (Mystery Road).

Is there a trailer?

You bet! On February 12, Binge released a suspenseful long-form trailer that offered us a look into the remote and rarely-seen on-screen landscape. As the team behind the release said, it gives us a glimpse at “the people and their secrets who vanish without a trace along with the complex, intriguing characters that inhabit the high country, where the lost will be found.”

Who is the team behind High Country?

High Country is produced by Curio Pictures in association with Rage Media and was created by Marcia Gardner and John Ridley. Both also Executive Produce alongside Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner (Curio Pictures) and Lana Greenhalgh and Penny Win (Foxtel Group) with Producers Pino Amenta and Sue Edwards.

The late Brian Walsh commissioned the project.
