Graham Norton as host of Wheel Of Fortune Australia

Graham Norton will host Wheel of Fortune Australia — here’s when it premieres

Wheel of Fortune Australia is making its return down under, with the premiere set for Monday, 25 November, at 7:30pm on Network 10.

Hosting the revival is none other than multi-award-winning presenter, broadcaster, author, and comedian Graham Norton.

Each episode will see three contestants compete to solve puzzles and win prizes through a mix of fast-paced speed rounds and the iconic main puzzle board. The top scorer will advance to the Mini-Wheel, where they’ll tackle one final puzzle for the chance to win a grand prize of $50,000.

The Wheel of Fortune Australia reboot was first announced in September 2023, alongside the reveal of the beloved Irishman as host. Filmed in Manchester, England, the series features Australian expats living in the UK as contestants.

A look back at the Wheel of Fortune’s history

Wheel of Fortune Australia originally aired on the Seven Network, debuting on 21 July 1981 as an adaptation of the American series, hosted by Ernie Sigley. The show ran for 25 years until its final episode on 28 July 2006.

The first reboot, Million Dollar Wheel of Fortune, hosted by Home and Away actor Tim Campbell alongside Kelly Landry, aired briefly on the Nine Network in 2008 but was cancelled after just five weeks.

Graham will be the show’s eighth official host, following the likes of John Burgess (June 1984 – July 1996), Tony Barber (July 1996 – December 1996), Rob Elliott (January 1997 – December 2003), Steve Oemcke (January 2004 – December 2005), and Larry Emdur (January 2006 – July 2006).

To date, the longest-running contestant has been Melissa Roberts, who appeared in 12 episodes and amassed over $50,000 in prizes.

Now, with Graham at the helm, all eyes are on whether Wheel of Fortune Australia can reclaim its place as a staple of Aussie family television once again.

But wait, there’s more

The revival of Wheel of Fortune Australia joins a slate of returning shows on Network 10, including a delicious new season of Dessert Masters and the return of Big Brother Australia in 2025.

And for soap fans? Fear not! The US classic, General Hospital, is set to join 10’s lineup on New Year’s Day 2025, too.

Wheel of Fortune Australia 2024 airs Monday 25 November on 10 and 10Play.
