Dr Chris Brown is changing networks — Here's what it means for I'm a Celeb...Get Me Out of Here

Beloved TV vet Dr Chris Brown is leaving Ten in July 2023 after signing a million-dollar deal with Seven.

As announced by his new home on February 2, the 44-year-old will join the rival network in July and will co-host his final season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here with Julia Morris in April.

Brown started his career on Seven’s Harry’s Practice two decades ago before he went on to star in some of Australia’s most popular programs.

“I’m not entirely sure my old access pass works, but once we get over that hurdle and I’m back from the jungle, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into some exciting new projects in the second half of the year and beyond with Seven,” he said in a statement.

“Chris is one of the most popular and recognised people on Australian TV, bringing warmth, intelligence and a great sense of humour to everything he does,” Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer James Warburton added.

“We can’t wait to have him on board and to announce the great new content he will star in.”

News.com.au reported that Brown has signed a two-year contract with the rival network, which is believed to be worth more than $1 million yearly.

“Chris Brown has provided Australians with warmth and compassion as the resident vet on Bondi Vet, treating animals large and small,” a spokesperson for Ten told Chattr.

“He has served up a multitude of uplifting, inspiring and hilarious stories with Amanda, Barry and Miguel on The Living Room couch and Chris, along with Julia Morris, is contracted to the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! which will be back on screens and back in the South African jungle in April.”

Over the years, the popular presenter has helmed Network Ten shows including Bondi Vet (2008), The Project (2010), The Living Room (2012-2022), and I’m a Celeb — which he has been working on since 2015.

In 2019 he hosted Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway and has served as the voice for The Dog House Australia since 2021.
