Channel 10’s brand new cooking show Dessert Masters has two superstar judges up its sleeve; Amaury Guichon and Melissa Leong.
And, the hosts aren’t the only familiar faces on the show. Unlike MasterChef, Dessert Master’s doesn’t have home cooks battling it out, instead, some of the most well-known personalities of the Australian cooking scene are competing.
Amongst the contestants are celebrated pâtissier Adriano Zumbo and legendary pastry chef, Kay-Lene Tan.
You can find out more about all of the Dessert Masters contestants here, but if you’re looking for intel on the judges, we’ve got you sorted below.
Amaury Guichon
Amaury Guichon is a hu-uge star and has a massive fan base all around the world. In fact, he has a following of over 13 million on Instagram alone. He also has 22.6 million followers on TikTok and 12.1 million on YouTube.
But what is he actually famous for? Well, Guichon makes absolutely insane chocolate sculptures. You can check out some of them below:
He has also released an eight-episode reality series School of Chocolate on Netflix in 2021.
He actually got his big break on a reality TV show. The Swiss chef took up an apprenticeship at the Maison Lenôtre in Paris before competing in the French reality cooking series Who will be the next great pastry chef? in 2013.
Amaury placed third in the show and was invited by Jean-Philippe Maury shortly after his appearance to work at the Las Vegas branch of his Patisserie in the Bellagio and Aria. While working at the prestige establishment, Amaury started posting his creations on social media and they quickly went viral.
Melissa Leong
Melissa Leong is an established food writer and food critic, but she’s best known for being a judge on Masterchef. She was in the role for seasons 12 to 15.
It was announced earlier this year that she wouldn’t be continuing in the role, but instead, moving over to Dessert Masters.
She also co-hosted The Chefs’ Line alongside Dan Hong and Mark Olive for two seasons in 2017, and 2018.
Dessert Masters will air on November 12 at 7:30pm Channel 10 and 10 Play in 2023.
