Denvah Baker-Moller floored the judges on February 26, giving her the Judge’s Save and sending her straight into the Top 10 of Australian Idol.
The 23-year-old country singer, whose personality is just as big as her incredible voice, said that making it to the OG Top 12 was a “dream come true”.
“I know that not everyone out there likes country music, so to let the country singer in is such an honour and one that I don’t take for granted,” she said in her Channel 7 bio. “Country is cool now and I want to prove that in the Top 12.”
Hailing from Rockhampton in Queensland, Denvah revealed to TV Week that she wanted to be a ballerina and had grown up dancing “seven days a week”.
“That’s all I did. I’d wake up, go to school, dance, and then do it all over again,” she said.
However, her talent for singing shone through and this pocket rocket has won a bevy of industry comps.
In October 2023, she won the Groundwater Country Music Festival’s KIX-Start competition, before releasing the single Do Without. Before that, she won the NAB Gympie Music Muster Talent Search comp, taking home an estimated $22,000, which included career-building opportunities, mentoring, music equipment and a trip to Nashville!
Looks like she’s set for stardom!!
