As the finals of Dessert Masters 2024 draw tantalisingly closer, fans rally behind their favourite chefs as they tackle some of the most challenging bakes yet.
One standout competitor is Christy Tania, the show’s “daredevil of desserts”, who you can always expect to deliver the unexpected.

What’s Christy Tania’s baking background?
Born in Indonesia, Christy graduated from Business School in Singapore before becoming IBM’s youngest female Project Manager. But when her cake-making side hustle took off, Christy decided to leave corporate life behind and pursue her passion full-time.
Her culinary journey led her to France, where she trained at the prestigious École Nationale Supérieure de Pâtisserie. While in France, she worked alongside three Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse at the Ritz Hotel in Paris.
Christy said adieu to France when she moved to Melbourne to join her partner. In 2013, she became head chef at the Adelphi Hotel’s dessert fine diner, Om Nom, which boasts a coveted Chef’s Hat.
Three years later, she stepped into the role of Executive Pastry Chef at the Langham Hotel before launching her own business, Glacé Dessert Artisanal, in 2017. Glacé is known for pairing classic French techniques with modern culinary trends.
When she’s not dazzling on Dessert Masters, Christy is busy rebranding Glacé and penning her first cookbook, IMAGINE.
Christy’s Standout Moments on Dessert Masters
Christy’s bold, whimsical creations have made her a standout this season – after all, she describes herself as a “curious dessert creative.” Among her most memorable bakes? Adventure Around the World in 3 Desserts, a sweet homage to her life in Indonesia, France, and Australia.
Her ultimate showstopper, however, was her All Eyes on Me creation for the Circus Immunity Challenge. The gravity-defying dessert featured a Black Forest cake balanced on two chocolate spheres, complete with fairy lights. Britney would absolutely approve – and so did judges Melissa Leong and Amaury Guichon, with Amaury calling it a “masterpiece.”

With her inspiring journey and boundless creativity, Christy has become a fan favourite and a serious contender for the Dessert Masters crown.
As the finals approach, all eyes are on whether she’ll take home the title and add Dessert Masters Champion to her impressive résumé.
