Scottish Lawyer Fiona Harvey has outed herself as the ‘real-life version’ of Baby Reindeer’s stalker character Martha Scott.
The 58-year-old sat down with Piers Morgan for her first interview and revealed what was correctly depicted on the show, and what she says was fabricated.
The popular Netflix series follows comedian Richard Gadd, who plays a character reminiscent of his real life story, called Donny. Donny meets a Scottish womens called Martha who grows obsessed with him and stalks him.
However, Fiona has alleged that the stalking shown on Baby Reindeer was extensively dramatised.
Here are the four biggest bombshells Fiona dropped during her interview with Piers.
She denied sending 41,000 emails
Baby Reindeer shows Martha sending Donny over 40,000 emails. However, Fiona told Piers that she only sent a handful.
“There may have been a couple of emails exchanged. Just some jokey banter,” she said.
“I have no idea (where the other emails and communications came from). I think it’s probably made up himself,” she added.
“I don’t see how anyone could do 41,000 emails.”
Fiona said she didn’t have Donny’s number
Perhaps one of the most polarising Baby Reindeer scenes was when Donny listened to what appeared to be thousands of voicemails left by Martha.
He was seen jogging, sitting on the bus and lying in bed listening to the numerous messages, and later meticulously sorted them all into their own folders.
However, Fiona squashed the truth behind this scene by claiming that she’d never had Donny’s number.
“He’s crazy and wants to make this up,” she said. “I mean, I’ve not phoned the guy. I don’t have his number.”
She added, “The only explanation for having a voicemail from me would be [from] taping me in the Hawley Arms. That’s the only place we’ve ever met.”
Fiona said she was taken when Donny first propositioned her
Fiona told Piers that she was in a relationship when she met Donny and said that he came onto her.
“He’s been the ultimate misogynist,” she said. “I gave him the brush-off.”
“He asked me to sleep with him. … I said, ‘No, I’m sorry, I’m not interested.’ He said, ‘Would I like my curtains fixed?’ And I laughed and he said, ‘That’s a euphemism. You want me to come home with you?’ And I said, ‘I’ve got a boyfriend.’”
“I don’t fancy little boys without jobs. That sounds awful. That sounds really, really callous. But, you know.”
Fiona admitted to having multiple phones and email accounts
Donny was shown on Baby Reindeer receiving messages from Martha from various email and phone numbers, and Fiona has hinted that there may be a fraction of truth behind that.
She told Piers that she had around “four to six” different email addresses and mobile phones, saying that it makes life “easier”.
“I like to keep people on different phones and different emails,” she explained, before adding, “Maybe four. I think it’s four to six. Yeah, it’s just easier, it’s easier. So you have some for your utilities, some for close friends, whatever.”
“I like keeping people on separate phones as well,” she said. “And maybe that makes me a maniac or a stalker or something. But if you’ve got somebody on about your electricity bill or somebody on about some work or something, it’s nice to keep it separate, you know?”
