The time for the ever-important Australian Open 2025 draw is here! We now know who will be playing against each other in the first Grand Slam event of the season — well, for Draw One at least.
Finalising the Australian Open draws, which determine the tournament’s matchups, is a detailed six-week process leading up to the event.
The draw itself is complex and divided into two halves. The top two seeded players are placed in separate halves, ensuring they can only face each other in the final.
Meanwhile, the top 32 players are seeded, ensuring they are strategically positioned to avoid facing each other in the early rounds.
The Australian Open 2025 singles draw features 128 players in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
In contrast, the doubles event includes 64 teams, or 128 players, for each gender. However, some players may overlap and play in both the singles and the doubles.

What is the Australian Open 2025 round one draw?
The round one draw is for the opening round of matches at the Australian Open; it determines who will play who in the competition’s first round. The doubles draw will be on January 11 at 3pm AEDT.
Now that the draw has been completed, it’s determined that the following players will be competing against each other in the Singles Tournament.
Aussie Nick Kyrgios has been paired with Brit Jacob Fearnley for his long-awaited tournament return, and Alex De Minaur will be versing Dutchmen Botic van de Zandschulp.
