A group of hopefuls will sing their way to stardom, and one contestant will take home $100,000 in prize money, an exclusive recording package with Hive Sound Studios and the coveted winner’s title.
Here is everything we know about the upcoming season of Australian Idol 2025.
When is Australian Idol airing?
The Australian Idol 2025 release date was announced in December as January 29. However, that’s since been updated to February 2. The series will air on Channel 7 and 7plus.
Who are the Australian Idol judges?
For the upcoming season of Australian Idol, the same judges will return in 2025: legendary performer Marcia Hines, radio personality Kyle Sandilands, and singer Amy Shark.
Marcia told Channel 7 that she’s looking for “a voice that can stand the test of time and appeals to Australia”, while Amy added that she’s keeping an eye out for “someone who has the ability to make me think of them on my drive home at the end of the day.”
Meanwhile, Kyle said he “wants a voice that grabs me from the first note and makes me want to hear more.”
Where can you watch Australian Idol?
Australian Idol will air on Channel 7 and 7Plus. However, the airing days have not yet been confirmed, so stay tuned.
When are the auditions?
Unfortunately, the auditions for the upcoming season have closed. They were open in May and closed a few months after. If you want to audition for the following season in 2026, keep an eye out on their Instagram.
Who won last season?
Dylan Wright won the 2024 competition. Since winning Idol, Dylan has toured around the country and released an album, Half A World Away, which nabbed the top spot in the Australian country album charts.
