Married At First Sight 2025 (MAFS) groom Adrian Araouzou has found himself at the centre of controversy after past legal issues have resurfaced.

According to a report by The Australian, Adrian was previously acquitted of domestic violence charges against his former partner.

The incident in question saw the 31-year-old facing multiple charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence common assault, and resisting police charges back in 2020. He appeared in court over the charges and was acquitted on all counts.

According to the news outlet, court documents stated that police were called to the house that Adrian shared with her partner at the time after a neighbour heard screams.

Police said in the report that Officers found a “hysterical and barely consolable” woman naked in the bathroom, with her “head in her hands and blood seeping through.”

“Due to the actions of the defendant, police were required to restrain (him) using weaponless control,” police said.

A few days after the incident, the woman signed a statement saying that the injuries arose from a seizure.

MAFS’ Adrian speaks out about the domestic violence charges

Adrian has spoken publicly about the charges he was acquitted of.

“Any suggestion of physical assault is categorically denied,” the reality star told The Australian through a lawyer.

“I had my day in court, I was found not guilty and the application for an AVO was dismissed. Any allegation otherwise is completely baseless and highly defamatory.”

Daily Mail reported that Endemol and Nine launched an internal investigation and found Araouzou had not engaged in any wrong doing.
