“So un-Australian”: Hunted’s Luke and Ben reveal if their snitch got a reward

"Dibber-dobbers wear nappies."

Hunted Australia 2024‘s fan favourites Luke and Ben were eliminated after a camp neighbour called in a tip about their location to the Hunters.

The newly married couple told Chattr in a post-elimination interview that they were frustrated at their camp neighbour for outing them, but said they were happy that their own strategy wasn’t what led to their capture.

“We were pleased because we didn’t get done on our strategy. We didn’t make a bad decision, we didn’t use technology, they didn’t find us. We got dobbed in,” Ben said.

“So I just want the Hunters to know that moving forward, yes, they did capture us, but they didn’t find us. The public found us,” he said.

Did the person who dobbed Luke and Ben into the Hunters receive a reward?

Luke and Ben managed to narrowly evade the chief Reese Dewar and the other Hunters in an earlier episode.

However, after they checked into a caravan park during the episode that aired on August 27 and their neighbour called the Hunters to tip them off about the location of the couple.

Luke and Ben weren’t happy about the development, calling the move “So un-Australian”, with Ben adding that “Dibber-dobbers wear nappies.”

The tip-off had viewers wondering if there was any monetary incentive behind it and Luke confirmed there was.

“$250 reward and up to $500,” he said. “Depending on how much information you have. The more you have, the more money they can give you.”

Ben added: “We understand cossie-living, cost of living crisis, we get it. But also, like, $250? We had $103,000!”

Luke and Ben are happy with their dramatic capture

The boys were sprung by the Hunters after their location was compromised. But, Luke managed to make a run from them at the last minute and was later chased down by an aggressive sniffer dog.

“The dog was actually the most terrifying thing,” Luke said. “That whole night was so terrifying, but I absolutely loved it at the same time.”

Ben pointed out that while they’re disappointed they didn’t win, they’re happy with how exciting their capture was.

“We’re just happy that it was epic. If we were going to go out, we were going to go out with a bang,” he laughed.

“It was definitely a bang,” Luke added. “With the dogs and drones, night vision and all the scary things.”

Luke and Ben are interested in doing another TV show

There’s absolutely no doubt that Luke and Ben were one of the most entertaining teams on Hunted 2024. Their popularity has shone through in Facebook groups, where numerous positive posts are dedicated to the fan fav’s hilarious antics.

Fortunately for those viewers, it doesn’t sound like it will be the last we’ll see of Luke and Ben on TV.

“We’re starting to think about where you might see us next,” Ben said. “We’ve had a couple of early conversations, but we’d love to do another TV show, adventure or reality type TV show.”

However, they’ve already ruled Australian Survivor out for one specific reason.

“We would love to do Amazing Race Australia. We thought about Gogglebox, but Gogglebox is sitting on a couch, we want to race!” Ben said.

Amazing Race is definitely something we could do. We talked about Survivor, but Luke can’t swim,” he laughed.

Whatever show they’re on next, we can’t wait to watch them again!

Hunted Australia airs Monday – Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
