Paddy Colliar is a recognisable face on reality TV — he was on Ali Oetjen‘s season of The Bachelorette, then on Bachelor In Paradise and now he’s part of the FBoy Island Australia Season 2 cast.
So, considering host Abbie Chatfield was also on The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise, and FBoy Island Season 2 leading lady Krystal Thomas was on The Bachelors, did either of them know Paddy before coming on this production?
Krystal — who is one of the FBoy Island Australia leading ladies alongside Nicole Mitrov and Ally Woodfall — has shown a liking to Paddy since the show kicked off. The two shared a kiss in Episode 1 and have been on a one-on-one date since.
Did Krystal know Paddy before FBoy Island Australia Season 2?
Krystal confirmed to Chattr that she definitely had no idea Paddy was on The Bachelor franchise when she met him.
“Before going on The Bachelor, I never even watched it,” Krystal told Chattr.
“So when people were saying ‘It’s Paddy from The Bachelor‘, I had no idea who he was,” she continued.
“I think [it] was kind of a good thing because you don’t have that pre-conception or pre-opinion about who he is… because I’ve heard some stories about what he was like in the past.
“So I’m glad I didn’t watch him on that.”
Krystal confirmed that his stint on The Bachelor franchise eventually came out on the show but before that she definitely had no idea they shared that in common.
“I didn’t know who he was so I kissed him and was like ‘Who’s that old man?’.”
Did Abbie know Paddy before FBoy Island Australia Season 2?
“I don’t think that I’d met Paddy before,” Abbie explained to Chattr, noting that parasocial relationships and seeing someone on TV make it hard to know if you’ve actually crossed paths.
“Paddy used to be very, very FBoy vibes. We’ll see how he turns out on this show,” Abbie teased, noting that he’s been through a lot since his Bachelor days.
“He had a bit of a rude awakening, had a very traumatic event happen to him,” she explained.
In 2021, Paddy revealed that he was stabbed at a party in Adelaide and wound up in hospital.
“I’m sure he speaks about on the show,” Abbie recalled.
“It kind of changed his whole perspective on life from what I heard and understood.”
“It’s an interesting personal life story arc in seeing him on The Bachelor so long ago, and then Bachelor in Paradise and being what we would call FBoy — and then now.”
Abbie noted that he hasn’t been on reality TV for a few years and alluded that he has really changed from what we knew of him back then.

It’s understood that Paddy was 27 on The Bachelorette in 2018 so would be around age 33 now.
