A coach on The Voice 2024 has confirmed the finale won’t be live

Even though there's a public vote?

The newest season of The Voice Australia is upon us with LeAnn Rimes, Adam Lambert and Kate Miller-Heidke joining Guy Sebastian to find Australia’s next singing sensation.

But here’s the thing: The Voice 2024 isn’t live even though the Australian public will be called on to vote for a winner.

So how does that work? Well, similarly to Love Island Australia in recent years, the show has filmed multiple endings based on who the Australian public voted for.

When Chattr spoke with coach Kate in August, she confirmed that “all of [The Voice 2024]” had already been filmed “including four different endings”.

“We don’t know the winner because the winner’s by public vote,” Kate clarified.

Basically, once the final four are decided, the lines will open up for the public to vote. When voting closes, production will select the ending filmed for that particular winner.

Obviously it’s less authentic considering the contestant is acting as if they’ve won (without actually knowing if they’ve won).

“We got to see the acting chops of our final four,” Kate joked. “They were quite good.”

The good news? We’ll no doubt see a real reaction from the winner pop up on social media following the finale. We hope!

What rounds will be on The Voice 2024?

The Voice 2024 will follow the same premise as past seasons, which means that the contestants will need to make it through multiple rounds to reach the final.

The first stage is the Blind Auditions, which sees the contestants take to the stage hoping to turn the coaches’ chairs. Leann, Adam, Kate and Guy will only be able to select 12 contestants each. If an artist receives more than one chair turn, the coaches will pitch and the contestants will decide.

Unlike previous seasons, there will be an Ultimate Block available for each coach, which allows them to block all of their fellow coaches and ensure the contestant joins their team. They also receive a Block, which allows them to block just one judge.

The next stage is the Ultimate Battles, which sees artists from each team face off in pairs. Only one contestant from each battle will survive. Coaches will be given the power to save one artist.

The third round is the Knockouts, which is where teams go from seven to two. Grouped in duos or trios for the three Knockouts per team, the artists sing individual songs based on a theme. The winners from each Knockout face off in a final Showdown with a song of their choice resulting in two artists progressing to the Semi-Final.

After that, there will be eight contestants in the Semi-Finals, and four in the Finals.

The Voice 2024 premiere date

The Voice Australia announced that it will be premiering on Monday, August 19. That’s the day after the 2024 Logies, in case you were wondering!

How to watch The Voice Australia

The Voice will be available to watch on Channel 7 and 7Plus.

What can we expect this season?

The spectacular combination of brand-new coaches LeAnn, Adam, Kate and returning coach Guy promises a season filled with phenomenal performances, emotional moments and life-changing opportunities.

All four coaches are set to take their place on the iconic red chairs with their hands hovering to spin when they hear a voice they must have on their team. That, or hit the infamous Block button to stop another coach from securing an artist that has what it takes to win it all.

This season, The Voice is set to elevate its platform for discovering and nurturing extraordinary talent, offering artists the unique opportunity to be mentored by some of the most successful and diverse artists in the global music industry.

Who are the coaches?

This year will see a largely new set of coaches on The Voice Australia. As previously mentioned, LeAnn, Adam and Kate will join returning coach Guy and the four celebs will compete to score their favourite contestants for their teams.

Is there a trailer?

There is! The newest clip shows the four coaches battling each other to score the most talented contestants on their teams.

As the premise of the show goes, during the Blind Audition rounds, the coaches listen to contestants sing, and can turn their chairs if they want to recruit them to their own teams.

The competition progresses to Callback and Battle Rounds which see contestants gradually eliminated. At the Grand Final, just one singer is crowned the winner, and their coach technically wins as well.

Will a newbie coach take out the win this season?!

The Voice will air on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
