They surpassed longstanding boy band Big Bang’s music video, ‘Fantastic Baby,’ on April 22 by over a million views of ‘DNA’ (as at publication).
The music video for ‘DNA’ was uploaded on September 18, a focal single for their album ‘Love Yourself: Her.’ It has gained around five million likes and over one million comments.
They have been nominated for the US Billboard Music Awards two years running, winning the Social Artist award last year.
They released the Japanese version of the album, called ‘Face Yourself’ earlier this month. They have recently released their music video, ‘Euphoria,’ which has already gained 18 million views in around two weeks. It is the latest of their music videos that are linked together in a continuing plot.
While their widely celebrated sound has developed over time, it is known to combine hip-hop and rap with pop elements. Comprising of a rap and vocal line, BTS originally debuted in 2013 and have developed an international fan-base, known as ARMY.
According to Vogue Magazine May 2018 Print Issue, BTS have also confirmed a world tour will follow the release of their new album, ‘Love Yourself: Tear.’
Their 2017 tour included Sydney, so Australian ‘Army’ may get the chance to see the boys in person again this year.
The rap line consists of RM (Kim Namjoon), Suga (Min Yoongi) and J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), while the vocal line is filled by Jin (Kim Seokjin), Jimin (Park Jimin), Jungkook/JK (Jeon Jungkook) and V (Kim Taehyung).
For now, fans wanting to see what the BTS are like live can get “infired” via the thousands of fan videos uploaded every day on social media or in the YouTube Red series, ‘Burn The Stage’, which follows the boys around during their Wings Tour last year.
