The 18th annual Splendour in the Grass lineup has officially dropped, and boy is it big.

Headlining is hottest 100 champion Kendrick Lamar, New York indie rockers Vampire Weekend as well as old festival favourites: The Wombats, Lorde and Hilltop Hoods.

The lineup is Aus-heavy, with local acts Angus and Julia Stone, Gang of Youths, SAFIA and Jungle Giants just some of the Australian acts playing alongside, you guessed it: Dune Rats & Friends.

The lineup is a step forward in the ever-growing conversation surrounding gender diversity in the Australian music scene, with Middle Kids, Alex Lahey, Alex the Astronaut, Jack River and G-Flip just some of the killer female-fronted acts to grace the stages at the North Byron Parklands.

Melbourne folk-rockers camp cope famously called out Falls Festival organisers at the same site over the 2018 new year for a lack of female representation at their festival – there was only nine women on the bill in total.

The lineup also comes after a long campaign by festival organisers to keep the North Byron Parklands as the permanent site for both Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival’s Byron Bay leg, with the site having been secured for Splendour next year.

Splendour in the Grass begins on Wednesday July 18, with tickets on sale via Moshtix from 9am on April 19.

You can check out the full lineup, dates and ticket information via the Splendour website.
