Award season is always an exciting time of year. We get to look back at the films and honour some of the best… and some of the worst.

No one likes to see a bad movie, but luckily the people at The Razzies have and they have announced their nominations of the 38th annual Razzie Awards.

Leading the nominations is the newest addition to Michael Bay‘s Transformer franchise, Transformers XVII: The Last Knight. The film collected a total of nine nominations including the biggest award of all, Worst Picture.

The other Worst Picture nominations are Dwayne Johnson‘s lead Baywatch, the animated disaster of The Emoji Movie, the very much not wanted Fifty Shades Darker and Tom Cruise‘s lead The Mummy.

While many of those films were expected to appear heavily in the Razzie nominations, the is one film that comes as a big surprise is nominations received mother!. Director, Oscar nominated Darren Aronofsky was nominated for Worst Director and Oscar winners, Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem were nominated for Worst Actress and Worst Supporting Actor respectively.

Mother! was not the only film Javier Bardem was nominated for in the Worst Supporting Actor category. He was nominated for his performance in Pirated of The Caribbean XIII: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Don’t worry though, Bardem was not the only actor to receive two nominations. Oscar nominated Mark Wahlberg was nominated for Worst Actor for his role in Daddy’s Home 2 and Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins was nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for his role in Collide. Both actors were also nominated for their respective categories for their performances in Transformers XVII: The Last Knight.

Other notable films with a heavy presence in the nominations is Fifty Shades Darker with eight nominations and The Mummy with seven nominations.

The winners of the awards will be announced the day before the Oscars on the 3rd of March.
