Coming To The Movies This June

3 minutes to read

Summer Movie Season (well, in the USA) has hit full swing. We are in for a massive month for movies, so big it is hard to cover them all. These are some of the best suggestions of what is coming out in June.

Wonder Woman – In cinemas now.

The DCEU returns to our cinemas with their 4th installment into the universe, but this time lead by Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. First appearing in the critically panned Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman gets the big screen to herself as we watch her origin story set during World War 1.

The film also has a great supporting cast featuring Star Trek‘s Chris Pine, Harry Potter‘s David Thewlis and House of CardsRobin Wright.

The Mummy – June 8

It has been 18 years since Brendan Fraser‘s The Mummy first hit our screens so it is not a surprise that it is getting a reboot. This time however, it has power house Tom Cruise and it is apart of a new trend, a cinematic universe known as the Dark Universe.

The Mummy also features adopted Aussie Russell Crowe as Dr Henry Jekyll, Star Trek‘s Sofia Boutella, New Girl‘s Jake Johnson, The People vs OJ Simpson‘s Courtney B. Vance and King Arthur‘s Annabelle Wallis.

All Eyez On Me – June 15

Coming after the success of rap biopic Straight Outta ComptonAll Eyez On Me tells the story of Tupac Shakur. Demetrius Shipp Jr makes his feature film debut alongside a cast without any big names, except for Jamal Woolard, who reprises his role as Biggie Smalls from 2009’s Notorious, in which he made his feature film debut.

Despicable Me 3 – June 15

Our favourite big nosed villain and yellow sidekicks return for a 4th film in the Despicable Me franchise (yes, Minions counts). There are two draw factors to this film: firstly, the Minions; secondly, a massive all-star cast.

Despicable Me 3 features the talents of Steve Carell, Jenny Slate, Kristen Wigg, Miranda Cosgrove, Julie Andrews, Steve Coogan, Trey Parker and Russell Brand.

The House – June 29

The House is your typical summer comedy where in order to pay off their daughter’s college tuition, her parents start an illegal casino in their basement. This R rated film brings together a comedic cast comedy that features Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Jason Mantzoukas and Andrea Savage.
