Grey’s Anatomy getting ANOTHER spin-off

Far out. You’d think after 13 successful seasons of a show that feels like it’s gone on forever (honestly, 13 seasons!?) that you’d let a popular show die. I’m talking about Grey’s Anatomy, and it seems like whatever Shonda Rhime’s creates, it’s always going to have a tie in with that show. (Apart from Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder. Damn, she’s good).

Her latest show is no different. ABC have said ‘hell yeah let’s get this going’ and have given it a straight to series order, so it’s going to be on our TV’s very quickly.

It’s going to capture all of the drama that Grey’s Anatomy had, except this time, it’s about the interesting and messed up lives of the brave fire men and women who get too involved with each other and end up banging and then dramatically breaking up.

Presumably, the fire crew are going to be introduced into the show through some fire emergency and then the spin-off will go from there. However, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey has said:

“No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda, and ‘Grey’s’ signature Seattle setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting spinoff.”

Ah, Seattle. The land of doctors and firemen and women who have nothing better to do than sleep with each other AFTER they’ve saved lives. What legends.

There’s no word as to when this series will come out though. Guess we’re going to have to wait a bit to watch this drama unfold. I’m going to listen to The Fray’s How to Save a Life because that’s what comes into my head as soon as I read the words Greys’ Anatomy. Thanks for that!
