Ted Bundy is one of the USA’s most notorious serial killers. He confessed to more than 30 assaults and murders. Police suspect he had more victims that are undiscovered.
Bundy used his good looks and charm to lure unsuspecting women to their deaths. This role will allow Efron to combine his charisma and handsome features with the intense psychology of Ted Bundy.
Zac told Pedestrian TV,
“Honestly I don’t know how to explain it, I’m kind of scared, a little bit nervous – it’s exactly the kind of thing I like when I’m heading into a new project.”
This film will see Efron step away from his usual light-hearted, comedic roles such as the recently released Baywatch remake. But Efron is a versatile and captivating actor, and the film team are likely eager to see what he will do with the character of Bundy.
The films producer Nicolas Chartier said,
“From his dramatic turn in Paperboy to his hilarious performance in Neighbors, he continues to impress audiences and critics alike with his extraordinary versatility and range. We couldn’t be more excited to see him in this amazing role.”
Zac Efron’s talent and versatility will be wonderfully paired with director Joe Berlinger, a non fiction film veteran. He is most recognised for his gripping Paradise Lost trilogy, a documentary about the West Memphis Three.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is set to start production on October 9.
