Spider-Man, Spider-Man! Does whatever a Spider-Man can! And it seems as though one of these things is wowing comic fans the world over with a new trailer! Earlier this week, there were unconfirmed rumours that the trailer for the new film would be released alongside the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so fans were shocked when the trailer dropped more than a week early.

Homecoming marks the Web-Slinger’s sixth time on the big screen and Tom Holland as the third Spiderman, following in the footsteps of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Macguire. Because of this, the film will skip the already established origin story (Sorry, Uncle Ben…) and will instead focus on Spidey’s alter-ego. Finally, we will see Peter Parker as he tries to balance his hero and high school lives! However, when the vindictive thief Adrian Tomes A.K.A The Vulture begins to stretch his wings in the criminal underworld, Spidey must discover what it truly means to be a hero and if he is ready to undertake such a heavy duty.

Homecoming will also be the sixteenth film in the critically and commercially successful MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and as such, will maintain ties to it’s predecessors through appearances from it’s other characters. Tony Stark A.K.A Iron Man will be making several cameos, acting as Spiderman’s de facto mentor and benefactor in the film and Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau) as Tony’s bodyguard.

Besides Holland himself, the film will also star the original Batman himself, Michael Keaton as The Vulture, model Laura Harrier as Spidey’s love interest, Liz Allen, Donald Glover in an unknown role and Jacob Batalon as Peter Parker’s best friend, Ned Leeds.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will be slinging into theatres on July 7th 2017.
