Mario has finally made the move to smartphones. This was announced by Nintendo god Shigeru Miyamoto in Apple‘s keynote speech on the 8th of September.
Miyamoto told audiences that Super Mario Run will be available for iPhones sometime during the holidays. It’s an iOS runner, which means that everyone’s favourite Italian plumber will be running across iPhone screens in no time. The app won’t be free though because Nintendo have gotta make that paper somehow.
As Android users groaned collectively around the world at the news that it was only coming out on iPhones, Miyamoto told Kotaku: “we do intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future.”
