Happy endings aren’t a common theme in Game of Thrones.

With so much war and death there is hardly even time for anything nice to happen. Certainly nothing as nice as a happy wedding.

Luckily for Game of Thrones actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, real life is quite a different story. The pair, who portrayed Jon Snow and Ygritte on the show have announced their engagement after five years of dating.

The duo first started dating after shooting Jon Snow and Ygritte’s love arc during season two. The pair kept the relationship quiet, denying they were together until last year when things started to get pretty steamy on the red carpet.

People.com broke the exciting news, revealing an announcement which was printed in the UK Times. It read:

“MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”

It didn’t take long for darling Kit to open up about how he fell in love with Rose. In an interview with Vogue Italia last year, he spoke about one of his best memories filming Game of Thrones.

“The three weeks in Iceland when we were shooting the second season. Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love…”

Turns out there is a thing or two Jon Snow knows. Source.

Whilst the pair have yet to comment on the announcement, it’s fair to say that the entire Game of Thrones fandom is swooning right now.

It seems like Jon Snow did know a little something about…something. At least one good thing has come out of this show of constant death and suffering.
