Peep the dollar amount of every tip ever given on Below Deck Down Under

Plus, the extreme difference in charter costs.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of a Below Deck Down Under charter for the crew is the tip meeting – especially when it’s a healthy sum.

And, as a viewer, it’s also interesting the see whether the crew’s hard work paid off, or if their guest was particularly stingy or generous.

However, with so many dollar amounts flying around, it can be hard to remember if a tip is actually good, and it’s often easier to rely on the gang’s reaction to gauge the answer.

The difference in the cost of charter

Season two of Below Deck Down Under is held on the former Japanese fishing vessel turned super yacht The Northern Sun. As many fans have pointed out, the current season’s boat is erm, slightly sub-par to season one’s Thalassa. Case in point: Tzarina’s cramped kitchen.

And, the drop in quality is represented in the price of the charters.

In season one the average cost was USD $310,000 for a trip, while season two is much lower, at USD $161,700.

However, despite the lower cost of the charter, the tips are significantly higher. For example, charter six on season one of BDDU gave a tip of USD $14,000, while charter three on season two gave a tip of USD $25,000, which is a massive 56% increase.
