Married at First Sight Australia 2024‘s Jade Pywell has revealed what she found to be a major “ick” when it came to her TV husband Ridge Barredo.
The couple quickly became one of the strongest pairs on the show after joining the 11th season of the marriage experiment as intruder newlyweds.
While there were initially some concerns about Ridge’s maturity level compared to Jade — who has a young daughter, Victoria — they’ve outlasted the majority of couples from their season. (Despite rumours they briefly split straight after the MAFS 2024 reunion…)
Since leaving the experiment, Ridge has relocated to the Gold Coast to be with his TV wife and the pair have kept viewers hooked with TikToks and Instagram Reels about their relationship.
Recently, Jade shaded her partner in a Reel of her sipping tea — and that’s exactly what the confession is!
What was Jade’s “ick” when it comes to Ridge?
“When he says ‘you know you’re going to fall in love with me’ but you’ve already seen his following list,” Jade penned.
She went on to caption the post: “Fun fact: I had seen my husband’s following list on Instagram on our honeymoon and I knew from our honeymoon, he wasn’t the one for me.
“He followed over 1,000 girls. Fast forward to when he fell for me, he randomly unfollowed almost every girl. And now here we are.”
Ridge was quick to bite back at the jab, insisting that “1,000 [girls] is a bit dramatic”.
However, Jade wasn’t having it.
“It was literally 1,178… Ick.” Yikes.

One MAFS fan took to the comment section to point out that while they weren’t taking Ridge’s “side”, the TV groom looked “sad”.
“I just looked at his following he only follows 250 or so people but over a thousand follow him, and that is out of his control…. you know that surely,” they wrote.
Jade then shot back: “I understand he’s following 250… it was over 1,000 before we started dating though… Ridge and I are happy, this comment from you was pointless.”
Meanwhile, others confessed to not knowing what the big to-do is about following certain people.
“Should be able to follow however many and whoever he wants as long as he’s not doing anything wrong,” a follower said.
Another suggested Jade “try to show the love and trust more”.
“Leave the jealousy behind,” they urged. “You will be much happier. Really love you two. Hope you have a bright future ahead together.”
