Ouch! Everyone who’s left Million Dollar Island due to injuries so far

You just *know* someof those contestants still wanted to compete.

A medical evacuation on an adventure reality show is a pretty common occurrence – and that’s with a regular-sized cast. So, the odds were significantly raised when Network Seven cast 100 players on Million Dollar Island, and, unsurprisingly, the number of injuries skyrocketed, too.

The majority of the bust-ups have happened during challenges, however, some have happened around camp too.

Check out the contestants that have been eliminated due to injury so far:

Episode One: Kelly

Kelly from Million Dollar Island
Kelly. Million Dollar Island.

Kelly was the first contestant to be removed from the competition for medical reasons, and she didn’t even make it past the first episode.

“Last night I was laying down and I felt like I was spinning, but I didn’t have any sleep. Then I got up today and I was like, “Oh, I’m okay” and I was around all day. Then, all of a sudden, just as we went to leave, it hit me again.”

Host Ant Middleton said that it could be “food poisoning” or a “tropical disease” (umm?!?) but we never actually found out what was wrong with Kelly before she was yeeted off the island.

Episode Three: Luke

Luke's injury on Million Dollar Island
Luke. Million Dollar Island.

The next contestant to fall victim to an injury was Luke, who had a hell of a headbutt with a tree in episode three. When he was competing in the Survival Challenge, he sprinted out of the jungle and collided head-first with a broken-off tree branch.

Episode Four: Jake

Jake has injuries on Million Dollar Island
Jake. Million Dollar Island.

Next was Jake, and his medical evacuation was rather mysterious. He competed in challenge but failed to win, so was set to compete in a Survival Challenge the following day. However, he never made it there as he fell ill overnight.

“I have fallen over and I’ve fainted,” he explained. “Then I came to and I’ve been incoherent. I haven’t been able to describe where I had been or where I was going. Like, I’ve lost consciousness, that can’t be good.”

Episode Six: Pete

Pete. Million Dollar Island.

Pete was medically evacuated from the island after he fell ill in episode seven; however, the episode didn’t give his removal much screen time.

“There is a lot I could personally elaborate on my exit and try and break it all down however medically….well I’ll save that for next time,” Pete explained on Instagram.

“Don’t be fooled.. the conditions out there were extremely tough, the hardest thing I have done x100.”

Episode Nine: Corey

Corey. Million Dollar Island.

Episode nine’s injury evacuation was a shocker. Corey, who – until moments ago – was the second richest man on the island, tripped on the beach and potentially tore a leg ligament.

“I tore my ACL in 2016. I’ve done it before and it hurts behind my knee,” he explained before adding he wanted “to complete the Survival Challenge.”

Alas, the medical team won’t allow it and Corey is swept away to the clinic, never to return to the beach (for now).

Million Dollar Island Australia continues on July 10 at 7.30pm on 7 and 7Plus.
