Beloved Aussie tennis commentator and former player Jelena Dokic is soon going to have her powerful story shared with the world in the form of a new documentary film, Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story.

Based on the contents of Jelena’s 2018 memoir, Unbreakable, the documentary seeks to offer a window into the tennis star’s extraordinary life — as told by her.

As you can likely tell by this point, the Unbreakable documentary is set to be a chill-inducing journey through Jelena’s life and her struggles as both a refugee and at the hands of her father, Damir Dokic.

The synopsis, shared by Roadshow Films, reads as follows:

“This is the story of Jelena Dokic’s extraordinary survival. How she survived as a refugee, twice. How she survived on the tennis court to become world No. 4. But most importantly, how she survived her father, Damir Dokic, the tennis dad from hell.”

The first look at Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story has been released with the official trailer, which you can see below.

The trailer begins with Jelena telling the camera, “I’m 16 years old here. I’m playing the world number one Martina Hingis. I knew that if I lost, the consequences would be catastrophic.”

Roadshow shared the first official trailer for the documentary to Instagram with the caption, “This is the story of Jelena Dokic’s extraordinary survival.”
