MasterChef Australia is in its sixteenth season and while there are a number of contestants bringing the heat, betting odds indicate that the winner has already leaked.
There’s one front clear runner and her name may not come as too much of a surprise to viewers.
Nat Thaipun, who won the Immunity Pin in the first challenge of the season – and the first Immunity Challenge in Hong Kong – is tipped to take out the entire competition.
What are the current betting odds for the winner of MasterChef Australia 2024?
At the time of writing, Nat has odds of $1.33, the lowest return of any contestants, meaning that the most amount of money has been bet on her to win.
Second place isn’t even close: it’s self-dubbed “Aqua Man” who has a return of $7.00 and BBQ Guru Josh “Pezza” Perry sits in their at $10.

How do betting odds work?
Betting odds are tied to dollar amounts, and those with lower odds are recognised as more likely to win, hence the lower return. For example, if someone bets $1 on Nat winning MasterChef and she does, they’d receive the amount that outcome is listed at, which is $1.50.
The return is based on how much someone bets, so if they bet $10.00 on the same thing, they’d receive $15.00. If they bet $100, they’d receive $150 and so on.
Do betting odds correctly guess the winner?
Technically no, betting odds cannot be tied to information about the show, however, in the past they’ve given a good indication of who will win.
For example, I’m A Celebrity Australia 2024 odds tipped Skye Wheatley to be crowned Queen of the Jungle, which she was. Similarly, so, Steph and Gian had the best odds to win The Block 2023, and they took out the competition.
