Veep took out Outstanding comedy series and Outstanding lead actress in a comedy series with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Saturday Night Live won both Outstanding supporting actor and actress in a comedy series with Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnion.
Donald Glover won both of Atlanta‘s awards, taking home Outstanding lead actor in a drama series and added enough massive accolade to his resume, making history when he became the first person of colour to win Outstanding directing in a comedy series.
The biggest surprise of the night however, was both HBO’s Westworld and Netflix’s Stranger Things walked away with no awards. Westworld was a big fan favourite in its first season while Stranger Things was tipped to win many awards after an extremely strong showing the in Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
