It’s been five years since the last time we saw the wizarding world apparate onto our screens, but the fire of the hardcore Harry Potter fandom still burns strong in the hearts of many. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, come November this year we will be getting a brand new film in the Harry Potter universe.
No, it’s not the much desired Marauders-era, or even an eagerly anticipated eighth story. Instead, it’s something else entirely! Are you ready?
The year is 1926, the location New York, America. Enter Newt Scamander who has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures, mysterious suitcase in tow. Things are going perfectly to plan until a few of the fantastic beasts kept hidden inside escape into the city of New York to wreck havoc!
The trailer pulls us back into the magical world instantly, complete with a snippet of the original score sure to make your Potter heart swoon. We get a great look at wizarding life in the 1920s, some superb costuming, and of course the wonderful Eddie Redmayne as our title character. The internet is surely losing its collective shit right now.
We still have until November 18th to wait, so study up on your American wizard vocabulary (Muggles equal No-Maj) and prepare yourself.
