What you need to know about Hunted Australia 2024, including the new name of the game

Everyone's fave cat-and-mouse series is back!

Everyone’s favourite ultimate game of tag is back in 2024, but this time, Hunted Australia bears an all-new twist.

The edge-of-your-set series returns for Season Three and follows nine pairs of everyday Australians, dubbed “Fugitives”, on the run from a team of skilled “Hunters” working their goddamned hardest to capture them.

While the first two seasons of Hunted Australia saw its winners split a $100,000 cash prize, 2024 ups the stakes with $1 million up for grabs.

So, what else do we know about Hunted Australia 2024?

Official Synopsis

Per production company Endemol Shine Australia: “Hunted follows nine pairs of ordinary Australians who become Fugitives in this unique series.

“With limited funds and resources, they will have to think of ingenious ways to survive and remain undetected for 21 days. 

“Hunting them down are some of the world’s best investigators formerly of the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Australian Defence Force (ADF), British Intelligence, special ops and private security, alongside skilled cyber analysts who will combine their expertise with simulated powers of state.”

What is Hunted Australia 2024‘s twist?

Channel 10 dropped the first promo for the new season on June 16, which revealed the series has officially been renamed Hunted Australia: Million Dollar Heist.

“Stealing one million dollars, that’s the easy part,” the video teased.

The game will kick off with the Fugitives attempting to pull off a bank robbery.

With $1 million up for grabs, the contestants must go on the run with whatever cash they can steal.

If they can evade the Hunters for 20 days straight, they get to keep the money. Simples!

When will Hunted Australia 2024 be released and how can you watch it?

At the time of writing, it’s unknown when Hunted Australia 2024 will begin on Channel 10 and 10play.

However, its first two seasons both began on July 17 after MasterChef Australia finished airing.

Who is in the cast?

While there’s no word on who the Fugitives are, Channel 10 confirmed that nine teams of two will feature yet again.

Is there a trailer?

In addition to the promo revealing Hunted Australia‘s new title, Channel 10 shared another clip posing the question: “You just stole one million dollars. What do you do next?”
